one hard pill to swallow (that i had to learn myself) is that in order to actually learn coping skills and progress with living successfully with your mental illness is that you have to take action. whether that’s going to therapy or removing yourself from toxic enviornments/people, living your life solely for yourself or whatever. you can’t sit around venting forever and expect it will change. theres only so much understanding and patience that others around you will have. sometimes mental illness is a burden on others. it’s a burden when you have access to help and choose not to take it. sometimes it’s exhausting. there’s no magic day where it will all fall together. you have to actively make that magic.
Oh man, this thing is so fun, you guys have no idea. I get to experiment, to try out things I’ve never done before. Hopefully you can see it and you can enjoy it with me.
Another page! That town hall building at the top gave me so much trouble but I guess it was worth it, the result is alright. But man, conveying my ideas without dialogues is HARD. Also, if you have any complaints about me giving Winry muscle definition I will fight you, the girl handles metal pieces, hard tools and has to have enough strenth to handle a grown man without his limb(s)
lessonsfrommadamexmas asked: Hi, I just found your Edwin comic and I'm completely in love! *-* Everything is so beautifully detailed I was just staring at the screen in awe. Your watercolor is so magical and it feels so alive! Now, EXCUSE ME, gotta go share it with people I know.
You are being so nice, thank you for all the compliments! And for sharing, obviously 😁 Watercolours are really fun and I’m just rediscovering them after years of trying my best at digital
Long time no post, sorry about that. I haven’t done much drawing recently due to some sort of art block, or more a realisation how much I still have to learn. So I’ve been trying out some things that I have either never done before or not in a long time. Like those two drawings, which by the way I am very proud of. Both of them were based on photos found on the internet and both painted with watercolours. I’m trying to learn how to properly apply paint and also how to mix colours, how to achieve depth and so on. Hope you enjoy
jadefyre asked: Hey! I *really* love your EdWin watercolour comic. It’s absolutely stunning and inspires me to learn more about the craft!! I eagerly look forward to whatever beautiful creations you share with us next!!
Thank you very much, you’re really kind! And yes, please explore the medium, watercolours are extremely satisfying and fun! I recommend looking up some tutorials on YouTube or watching streams of professional artists. My most recent find is Mateusz Urbanowicz, you can find him on Twitter, Tumblr or YouTube, he’s a background artist located in Japan, his works are really cool.
